Not really a bonus chapter.
Theses two days were pretty boring actually.
We wanted to make some miles
toward New Orleans and I chose a pretty straightforward route. US 290 out of
Austin I10. First stop was in Baytown, TX and the next was in Lafayette, LA.
Neither of these legs racked up much mileage, but it was mid 90’s heat and 70%
plus humidity.
Lots of water stops.
Thankfully we got to the hotels by mid afternoon and cooled down.
Tomorrow it’s off to New
Orleans for three days, including the 4th. Should be fun.
